GiantLeaps wants to make accountability for the environmental impact of food the norm in the hospitality and events sector. Laura Heerema is the founder of food start-up GiantLeaps. She says: “Our goal is to have 100 company restaurants measuring and addressing their climate impact by 2020. Earlier, Heerema won the PwC Social Impact Lab 2018 and was included in the Food100. DelanoPR was asked to get GiantLeaps in the media and thus kick off the search for the hundred company restaurants.
The food start-up GiantLeaps realised the first climate-neutral company restaurant in the Netherlands. Laura Heerema is currently measuring the climate impact of all four catering establishments’ purchases on the basis of their climate impact. The aim is to tackle this climate impact afterwards. The PR approach of DelanoPR made entrepreneur Laura Heerema the most published personality in the Food100 of 2020. In addition, the food media Entree and HorecaVizier wrote about the goals of GiantLeaps. The news was also picked up by the HC Nieuws newspaper, the online platforms WeesMeer and Het Witte Weekblad and various press sites.
