When you publish a book it’s useful to make sure the promotion is solid as a rock. Not all publishers can do this, and to start doing the promotion yourself as a busy entrepreneur… that’s a lot of specialist work.
Every year, various entrepreneurs knock on our door to outsource this. As a result, relevant journalists are considering reviewing the book. That in turn can provide good publicity. A great boost for your marketing!
Book promotion, how do you do that?
First of all, we look at what is planned around the launch of the book. Will there be an event? Will there be someone to whom the first book will be handed over? What is the subject? What is the purpose of the book? Then we make a PR proposal and, after the agreement, we get to work.
Do you also send review copies to journalists?
We first ask journalists if they are interested in a review copy. If so, we will send the book to them. This can of course also be done by you or your publisher. If there is no event surrounding the launch of the book, we will present the book to the media by sending a press release. We will make a suitable press list for this purpose. This can be shared with the author/publisher, but then only the names of the media will be shown.
Do you also take care of visual material to present the book?
If you still need photos or a video, we call in a partner company to take care of this. Good photos are indispensable for presenting the book. A video can be an excellent addition to this. The video should not be an advertising message. It is better when authors tell who they are, what the book offers and why the reader should buy it. Of course, you can tell them where they can buy the book.
Outsourcing my entire social media campaign, is that possible?
We work together with partners to do this. They come up with the creative ideas to drive sales up even further. Of course, we can ensure that the social media campaign and public relations complement each other.
What does a promotional campaign cost?
Sending a separate press release and offering the book to the media is less of an investment than hiring an event organizer and setting up a major event. It depends on how big you want it to be. It is best to go for periodical PR and thus be visible for a longer period of time. For this we start with a Big Brand Moment brainstorm and after that we agree on a fixed amount per month.
Is there a guarantee of success?
What we guarantee is that journalists will see the report and can consider publishing it. We cannot guarantee that they will publish. However, we do make a list of the media you want / the most important media to focus on. This increases the chance of publication.
