The Hong Kong Design Centre presented a project at the Dutch Design Week in Eindhoven for the first time. Several designers traveled from Hong Kong to the Netherlands for this event. PRGoeroes was engaged to handle the PR activities surrounding this project.
The Dutch Design Week took place from October 21 to 29 at various locations in Eindhoven. It is the largest design event in Northern Europe and is held annually at the end of October.
The project from Hong Kong was titled “Capsule.” It was a circular design that reflected Hong Kong’s unique urban landscape and cultural and socioeconomic developments such as aging, the drive for inclusivity, and much more. The entire design was assembled and produced by the Hong Kong Design Centre, Vivienne Yu, director of the creative company Story Lab, and the creative agency Number2.
The “Capsule” was part of an official design exchange between the Netherlands and Hong Kong. The project also received financial support from the Hong Kong government.
The designers from Hong Kong attracted the attention of many visitors at the Dutch Design Week with their creations. They showcased sustainable sneakers, fashionable clothing for the elderly, a sustainable mahjong game, and even a way for the blind to enjoy paintings.
PRGoeroes successfully secured free publicity articles for the Hong Kong Design Centre in Weesmeer, DutchTechOnHeels, Eindhoven040.nl, and Het Consumentenbelang. In total, it received 320 mentions, with 304 million impressions and a media value of €7.6 million.
