EcoWare
EcoWare, a social enterprise committed to sustainability and inclusivity, announced impressive impact figures earlier this year. Thanks to MAEX’s Social Handprint tool, EcoWare can demonstrate that every euro of revenue results in a social impact of €1.53. This places them among the top social enterprises in the Netherlands. PRGoeroes supported EcoWare in spreading this message to the media.
Impressive results
The Social Handprint shows that EcoWare, with a turnover of €1 million, generates no less than €1.53 million in social and sustainable impact. This performance is almost four times higher than the national average for social enterprises. Director Freddie Krullaars says:
“We are proud that we can now demonstrate what we do every day with hard figures. This proves that investing in EcoWare pays off both socially and financially.”
The mission of EcoWare
EcoWare focuses on creating valuable workplaces for vulnerable target groups. Through circular projects, such as refurbishing ICT equipment and bicycles, the organization offers both work experience and personal growth. (Please note: EcoWare is actively looking for companies that want to donate ICT equipment and bicycles.) EcoWare’s approach contributes to an inclusive society and promotes the participation of people who are distanced from the labor market. With a PSO 30+ status (where at least 30% of employees come from vulnerable groups), EcoWare is an example of social entrepreneurship.
Free publicity results
PRGoeroes developed a suitable media pitch to highlight EcoWare’s impact figures and circular approach. The pitch was aimed at news media and trade media focusing on sustainability. Our tools identified 11 online publications with a combined reach of more than a quarter of a million readers. This excludes all media behind a paywall and time spent on podcasts, radio, and TV. DuurzaamActueel was the first to publish the news about the €1.5 million in social impact. This was followed by business media such as IntoBusiness and WeesMeer, the local publication ZoetermeerActief and the national outlet NL Magazine. Later this year, EcoWare was a guest at the Glazen Radiohuis in Delft, which not only resulted in good conversations, but also beautiful images.
